Strange Google Gmail Ad
Shortly before noon on October 22 I was reading an newsletter from spaceweather.
The Luxury Cruise to Mars advertisement caught my attention, I had to click on it but if you’ll notice the
www.example.com
Is not a valid domain name. Clicking on it will lead to this:
You have reached this web page by typing "example.com",
"example.net",
or "example.org" into your web browser.These domain names are reserved for use in documentation and are not available
for registration. See RFC
2606, Section 3.
Is this Google running a test, a customer running a test.

[…] Searching around, I found someone else has noticed this as well. The text of the ads seem to be used by Google for various ad examples. But, I don’t see why they would be in the Adwords system as actual ads. Are they used by Google for testing somehow, are Adwords users creating them accidentally, or is it some clever click fraud scheme? […]
